< Restrictions on Using Merge Codes < Receipt Related Merge Codes will not work when sending an Invoice 


Please note that merge codes are context sensitive so, for example, receipt-related merge codes will not work when sending an invoice.


Pet Sitter Plus does not know which receipt amount to populate into the {PAYMENT_RECEIVED} merge code at the time of sending an invoice. This is because the total amount of an invoice can be fullly paid by multiple part payments from multiple smaller receipts.


Example, If you put the merge code {PAYMENT_RECEIVED} into any template used when sending an invoice, Pet Sitter Plus will not be able to populate the {PAYMENT_RECEIVED} merge code. The client will receive the unpopulated merge code in the resulting email as opposed to an email showing the receipt amount.


If you use the merge code {PAYMENT_RECEIVED} when sending an invoice, the merge code will not populate / work.


Instead your client will receive an email containing the merge code and NOT the value of the receipt.


This is because an invoice can be associated with multiple receipts (if  for example it is part paid by a number of smaller amounts)
