< Email Subject Settings < What Sender Email Address will be on my Emails if I use SMTP?

 

Introduction

 

This page explains 

  • the recommended settings to be used when connecting your business or personal email to Pet Sitter Plus via SMTP.

  • What sender email will appear on the emails that you consequently send.

 

With SMTP switched on, you now have the option to send emails from Pet Sitter Plus via a personal or business email service of your choosing. This means that some or all of the emails that you send from Pet Sitter Plus will be sent via your own email service and so will appear to have come from your personal or business email.

 

However, there are options. The result you get will depend on how you configure Pet Sitter Plus.

 

Here are some guidelines:

 

Our recommended settings are as follows;

 

In ADMIN > SETTINGS > SMTP Email Settings

 

Use Custom SMTP - switched ON (Checked)

AND

Only Use for Direct Emails - switched ON (Checked)

In this mode emails are handled as follows:

 

a) All emails that DO NOT have a quote, invoice or account summary attached will be sent via SMTP. When your client opens the email it will appear to have come from the personal or business email account that you used when you configured SMTP

 

b) All emails that DO have a quote, invoice or account summary attached will be sent via the native email system integral to Pet Sitter Plus. When your client opens the email it will appear to have come mailer@petsoftware.net.

 

In each case,

  • when your client replies to any email received, the reply will be sent to the email address you specify in ADMIN > SETTINGS > Company Information > Reply-to

  • the name on the email, which appears to the left of the email address will generally be your company name (but it can sometimes be the name of the individual associated with the email address, depending on how your email client handles things.
